Participants will demonstrate an understanding of the implications of past and modern contraceptive options on the socioeconomic and cultural care of women through reflection and apply an online clinical decision making tool to a case scenario.
Objectives for this course:
- Explore past and modern contraceptive methods through a historical perspective, including mechanisms of action, effectiveness, access, and acceptance globally, while highlighting disparities related to socioeconomic and cultural factors.
- Discuss medical eligibility criteria and apply tools to recommend appropriate contraceptive options for diverse patients, demonstrating an understanding of individual health needs and public health challenges.
- Review strategies to address challenges in contraceptive use, such as misconceptions, barriers to access, and ethical considerations while proposing potential solutions for improving contraceptive education and policy through case studies.
